Under Consideration

Hello everyone, I hope 2011 already a roaring success for you all. A quick question for you, have any of you noticed something different in your past applications. I was going through them, glutton for punishment that I am, and noticed that some old ones had changed to Under Consideration, from Viewed. I've not noticed this before. Is this a new layer added on retrospectively by CCP or has this always been the way and I'm just being rather thick?
Nathan.

Editorial Comment This is a new feature.

You get marked as under consideration when employers are interested (shortlist) your profile.

It doesn't mean that you'll be called in for audition, it doesn't mean you'll get the job. But it usually means you are under consideration.

Thanks,

CCP Admin

Ah. Well, it's nice to know I nearly, nearly didn't get a job as opposed to nearly didn't! And John, great minds! Or fools never differ ;)

I hadn't noticed it until you both mentioned it but I have looked at my applications and one I applied for that says 'under consideration' I did get that job and did it on Weds this week! Obviously a new thing but this site does keep improving which is good news for us all.

It's certainly a very reassuring thing to know when you've made it to the shortlist.

Although, as with all such things, extra information comes with the possibility of extra paranoia ;)

My insecurity is the thing I'm most secure about!

Had a little look through my past applications and I apparently wasn't even considered for the job I currently have! :) Hopefully that means that I'll get the job I just applied for even though I'm not considered for that either, lol.

I guess not all employers use the shortlisting system... in fact that's clearly the case, since a lot of the jobs I *didn't* get didn't end up with an "Application not taken forward"

An interesting new function, and I was also intrigued by the way in which it has been retroactively applied. Certainly, I don't think everyone shortlists as a matter of course, although a lot will - and I appreciate what the admins are saying, but I note, on average, that of the applications that were 'under consideration' for me in the past three-four years, I probably won the part in about 75% of cases, and was seen for audition in about 95% of cases. It would seem, then, that its a good gauge, at least, for how seriously an application is being taken by any given company!

My only question to CCP might be, do employers feel any qualms at having the actors know this information? Would they prefer that actors *didn't* know they were being shortlisted unless they were prepared to tell them so explicitly? I assume that whatever shortlisting option they may agree with on the CCP pages makes it clear to them that now the shortlisting information is shared with the actors concerned?
