Victor Spinetti
The Welsh actor Victor Spinetti has died from cancer aged 82, he has been touring up until very recently in productions like The Ghost Train for Ian Dickens productions and I remember working on a production of Comic Cuts with him in the 80's set in a old theatre which had become a bingo hall but still received arts council funding as a theatre, Victor played the manager when the inspectors arrived and they had to make it look like a producing theatre. It's a long time ago but it was a fun show that toured to the theatre I was A.S.Ming at.
Has anyone else got any stories about him to remember him today?
My 1st ever visit to the theatre was to see Dick Whittington @ The Palladium, some time during the 80's. Dick was played by Jim Davidson & Victor was cast as the villain "King Rat". He pretty much was the only thing I remember about the production, he was a great presence on stage, possibly helped by the giant rat costume, possibly not...

I remember him doing a one man show at the King's Head years back. A colourful man. May he rest in peace x
Hi Nigel
I saw him do a 1 man show for the Sydney festival about 15 years ago! He was just brilliant. His stories about the Beatles were hilarious, as were his anecdotes about dining out in Hollywood. Very sad to read this...
Thanks for posting.

I was stage manager at Winchester for his one man show in the 80s and was so nice to everyone.
Meant to say HE was so nice to everyone.
