Guy, you are brill! I loved Phil the Nonce... ;)
David, I think you'll find that Ozzie Osborns kid also completed a very successful run playing Roxy Hart in Chicago in the West End so let's not be too hard on her!
At the end of the day, her profile was significantly raised by doing the reality TV thing with her parents but she would have had to jump through hoops to pull off Roxy so she's obviously got a fair bit of talent hiding in there somewhere!
Times they are a changing people! We can either embrace the change and use whatever means there are at our disposal to progress our careers or simple get left behind! Talent means absolutely nothing if noone knows you even exist!
Onwards and upwards!
Just learned that a friend of mine, who is a very prolific actress and I'm pretty sure is also a member of CCP, is actually on "Take me out" tonight! :-( No wonder she's been a tad quiet on this discussion!
If you can't beat them join them huh! :-/

On the note of reality casting...I saw Lee Mead as Fiyero in Wicked last week and was shocked at how bad he was. His lines were mumbled, terrible diction, very lazy dancing and just general lack of effort - Oliver Thompsett was a million times better in every way. When Mead had dialogue with Rachel Tucker (Elphaba) the clarity of her voice really showed how bad he was in comparison...and she was one of the Nancys off I'd Do Anything.
Hi Linda Glad you liked Phil The Nonce! More to be found at...

Best for now,

I don't doubt for a second that contestants on shows like this have been sourced from casting sites.
I, myself, have been contacted via this site to ask if I would like to be part of a similar type show.
I refused, of course.
:)
It seems times are going to be hard for any actor not willing to give birth or find their soul mate on national tv!
But if neither of these appeal there's always the embarrassing illnesses program. If you're too embarrassed to go to your GP about an on going problem - then get it sorted on national tv.
Take a look at this http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/4617987/x-factor-reject-zoe-alexander-lands-doctor-who-role.html
Seems you have to thump someone on the X Factor to get a role these days.
Supporting role = Extra! I wouldn't worry about that one Pru!

@Prudence Edwards
I think it's a case of The Sun making something out of nothing.
"...managed to bag a supporting part in the BBC1 sci-fi series alongside star Matt Smith."
Is reported somewhat differently in the link below:
"...the BBC has confirmed that the 22-year-old is only working on the show in a supporting artist capacity."
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s7/doctor-who/news/a434439/x-factor-reject-zoe-alexander-lands-doctor-who-role.html
Appearing in one episode only as supporting artist; isn't that extra work? Looks like Zoe's singing career is on hold then for a while. Who knows where this could lead for Zoe?
Will Zoe have a profile on CCP before long? I bet her profile would top the "Most Viewed"; we need people of Zoe's calibre on CCP.
You know it makes sense :-)
I wonder which supporting artiste agency represents her and puts her forward for work in a TV programme?
Or should that be, I wonder which supporting artiste agency used to represent her and used to put her forward for work in a TV programme.
Supporting artist or not, it still sends out the wrong message.
It's a tough business there are no rules so lets just try as hard as we can.... but obviously not like this

There's more humour online at the mo (to lift spirits from crap tv) from loads of sources just look for it ;-) .
Just about to embark on new series of comedy sketches
Best to all,
Guy ;-)
Anyone can be an SA Pru! No discernible talent required! That's the only message here!
That, and if you're a fame hungry wannabe, keep the number for the Sun's newsdesk on speed dial!
If she'd been cast in a proper role in DW without going through any audition process just because she once once threw a hissy fit having got 4 No's on X-Factor then that's a different thing altogether! Nothing here to get all het up about!
...As someone said earlier, they got seen
on Tv & had the look they wanted.
Not sure if being on Emmadale is the greatest acting acheivement in any event!
Most casting decisions are made this way; The acting is surprisingly irrelavent!
Having said that, I wouldn't go on 'Take me Out' unless you paid me min
Equity rates & then I'll be happy to act the part of a 'wannabee' !
'POLE'
But then you may miss out the chance to find your soul mate Charles! (lol)

Re the original Take Me Out/Emmerdale guy...do we know who he is/what part in Emmerdale?
Be nice to see if he is/was any good and was an actor before Take Me Out...

@Tony Gibbons
David Jeffrey is the name of the "Take Me Out" contestant.
I didn't watch the TMO show and don't watch Emmerdale so can help no further other than listing where I got the info from:
