Three meetings are coming up over the next few days that will potentially affect the future of the industry and the way Equity represents its members.
The first two are Manifesto for Theatre meetings:
11am Saturday 21st November in Liverpool at The Adelphi Hotel, Ranelagh Place, Liverpool, L3 5UL
2pm Sunday 22nd November in Manchester at The Mechanics Centre, 103 Princess Street (Major Street Entrance), Manchester M1 6DD
These meetings are so very important for the potential future of subsidided repertory theatre contracts - Equity need to know you are concerned about the current rates of pay and want a rise on the basic rate before they become committed to act upon negotiations to deliver a £400 basic minimum .
They need to know that members want it, to give them more incentive to pursue and deliver it for us - so, please, try to make sure that you attend the meeting, learn more about what has been and what can be done and safeguard your right to a more realistic minimum rate of pay in sub-rep.
The other meeting is the North West of England General Branch AGM next Tuesday 24th November from 1pm at the Green Room, Whitworth Street West, Manchester (just along from Oxford Road station.
This AGM will overview the branch and members activities and services in the region over the past year and also discuss the future of lo/no pay 'jobs' and the action all members must take to ensure they are curtailed.
Also, there's ample opportunity to have a couple of early festive drinkies.
