Talk to each other
If crew members would only talk to each other, they'd save the producer a lot of last-minute stress. I know, I know, the director is in the world of the script (an impenetrable bubble) but come on! The producer suggested, two weeks ago, that we find a runner but the director insisted it wouldn't be necessary. And now, four days before the shoot, he turns around and says (with no hint of apology or understanding that this could be tricky) 'I think we will need a runner for the shoot'. Inspired, truly.
