Key Responsibilities:To provide high-quality individual instrumental tuition to allocated studentsTo plan individual lessons that set challenging teaching and learning objectives which are relevant to the pupils taughtTo select and prepare resources including repertoire for pupilsTo monitor and assess pupil progressTo report on pupils’ attainment orally and in writingTo teach appropriately for the age and ability range of the pupilsTo provide pupils with practice strategies, to extend work in lessons and encourage pupils to make music independentlyTo have high expectations of pupils and build successful relationships centered on teaching and learningTo organise and manage teaching and learning time effectivelyTo actively contribute to the wider musical life of the School through recruitment of students and involvement with ensembles, concerts and other performances as requiredTo promote and foster a culture of excellence, commitment and aspiration in the Music DepartmentTo maintain accurate attendance recordsTo organise a timetable that adheres to the rota system in operationTo write annual reports detailing pupils’ progress and achievementTo organise and administer examination entries
