BROKEN DOWN is a comedy short about two guys stranded in the middle of nowhere, on an empty country road, waiting for someone to come fix their car. Somewhat influenced by Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, it focuses on a power struggle between two best friends, stuck in a seemingly endless limbo, and faced with a crucial decision, stay, or go?



Plot

Doug and Paul are on their way back from a rather unsuccessful fishing trip when their old banger of a car decides to die on them, and they're forced to call roadside assistance for help. Bored out of their skulls, Doug and Paul whittle away the hours, talking nonsense and doing anything they can to entertain themselves. But as the day draws on and on, with no sign of rescue, they realise they're going to be waiting for a while - perhaps even for eternity. As nightfall approaches, tensions begin to mount, and their friendship is put to the test.



Production Details

We have a great cast on board, and have found the perfect location, near Ide Hill in Sevenoaks, TN14 6JH.Regarding the date of the shoot, We're flexible and happy to schedule for whenever the cast and crew are available and comfortable to do so regarding Covid-19 restrictions.Although we feel like, at a push, it could be possible to shoot the entire film in one day, it might be the case that an additional day is needed - in which case, additional pay would of course be provided.Please find attached the script. We also have photos of potential locations, upon request.We feel this project has the potential to achieve great success on the film festival scene.
