    The Music department has experienced rapid growth in recent years with an increasing number of children involved in musical performances. The school teaches Music to both GCSE and A-Level. A Large number of pupils take instrumental and/or singing lessons across all year groups and the department leads a busy schedule of choirs and ensembles, with concerts, performances and musical trips taking place throughout the year.The school is excited by the addition of the new assembly hall which will consist of new Music and Drama classrooms, practice rooms and a performance space. The addition of this new performance area will provide even more scope for our musical groups.The RoleWe are seeking an inspirational and experienced musician to teach singing at Dunottar during the school day (with the addition of before/after school lessons depending on demand or teacher availability). The successful candidate would relish the opportunity to join our successful and friendly Music department and make a significant contribution to the co-curricular activities of our thriving and well-equipped Music department across the whole School. We are looking for someone with an ability to stimulate curiosity and interest in Music who can teach across all the singing styles. There is a need to be flexible and willing to teach remotely and person in line with DfE guidelines. You need to give full commitment to the aims and ethos of this Departments and to Dunottar School. The successful candidate will share our passion for developing the work of the department and sharing good practice. Key Responsibilities Tailor sessions appropriately to suit each pupil’s abilityPrepare pupils for Grade exams either with ABRSM, Trinity board or equivalent (the school hosts ABRSM examinations each term)Prepare pupils for performances such as concerts and recitalsEnable pupils to build their confidence in aural skills and knowledge of music theoryDemonstrate excellent organisation skills by preparing teaching timetable in accordance with school guidelinesCommunicate effectively with pupils, parents, other peripatetic teachers and Music Department staffCommunicate pupils’ progress to parents and the Director of Music regularlyMaintain high professional standards of dress code, punctuality and politeness
