We are looking to recruit a French film editor for ongoing editing of a groundbreaking, long-term feature-length docu-drama about the lives of Parisian teenagers in the Banlieues. The ideal candidate will:Be native French speaking and fluent in EnglishBe based in or close to Parishave feature film / documentary experiencehave experience in editing from footage shot over several years, with several consistent characters, following their journey through lifehave a strong eye for nurturing the best sequences from a large volume of rusheshave experience in ongoing story development in the edit, over a long period of timeunderstand young French media and music trendsbe confident editing content that will appeal to young French audiencesunderstand the changing cultural and societal trends both in the Banlieues, Paris in general, and France as a whole e.g. emerging subcultures, attitudes towards teenage mental health, LGBTQI rights and visibility, politics, fashion, etc. have an interest in and knowledge of sportsWhile we are looking for someone who has experience working in the UK or US factual / doc film and television space is a bonus. This role is to work long term (possibly several years) on a film that is already in production, on a part time basis as and when edit periods are scheduled. We are very flexible with start dates and other commitments you may have.
