AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENTPush Me Productions are excited to announce that they will be accepting submissions for the role of JACK for their first show ‘A very short interval’ by Clare GillmanSynopsisRomeo and Juliet couldn’t hack it.Society forced Cathy and Heathcliff’s love into the ether…And we all know what happened to Martha and George when he killed the kid...The year is unknown. The moment is transient.Man and Woman face a problem. They can’t separate. Two years out of their relationship, still bound together. Unable to free themselves, Woman enlists the help of Emotional Law. They enter into B4242 and flanked by lawyers, attempt to untangle a knot, their knot.In this dystopian world not far from our present, communication is out of control and separation has become impossible. With the help of Emotional Law, they will attempt to cut all ties, but even the might of the law begins to buckle in the presence of this couple. This is a play about a relationship. Whereas most plays about relationships tend to start from the beginning, our play is unique in that it starts after the relationship has ended. One of ourmain aims is to explore the effect social media has had on our ability to break up and walk away from toxic relationships. We think this has become virtually impossible in today’s world. Our two protagonists can’t stay together yet can’t leave each other. The question we therefore ask is not how do we stay together, but how do we separate in this day and age of perpetual interconnectedness?Production details: Originally scheduled for performance in May 2020, but postponed for obvious reasons(!)
