    Bronagh and the Bum Goblin by Áine KingBronagh is trying to get to her son's school assembly but her Inflammatory Bowel Disease means that she struggles with the long bus journey, especially as she is taunted the whole way by her psychological projection of the disease, her Bum Goblin.OverviewIn 2020, BOP commissioned three writers to each write a new fifteen-minute monologue or duologue for radio. After a period of development, these plays are now ready to be cast. The three plays are:Bronagh and the Bum Goblin, by Áine KingJammed, by Gabriella SlossThe Premorial, by Jen McGregorThe rest of the team is:Director - Lu KempAssistant Director - Niloo KahnAudio Engineer - Heather AndrewsAssistant Audio Engineer - Zoe IrvineDramaturg - Gerda StevensonCasting is open to everyone but we are particularly seeking auditions from people who identify as disabled and/ or as a person of colour.Time Commitment and FeeThe time commitment for each performer is as follows:Script familiarisation / independent work / 0.5 daysRehearsal / group work on Zoom / 0.5 daysRecording / group work on Zoom / 0.5 days1.5 days totalFor this work we can offer each performer a fee of £300.00 (at a rate of £200.00 per day)ScheduleAuditions close : Midnight, Sunday 18 AprilAudition decisions : by Friday 30 April Actors confirm casting : by Friday 7 MayRehearsals begin : w/c Monday 17 MayRecordings : Wed 19 - Fri 21 MayBroadcast : TBCBroadcast InformationEach play will be broadcast once on local community radio station EH-FM, as a single one-hour programme. The programme will then be available to listen to on the EH-FM for one year after the date of broadcast.The plays will also be available to listen to via the BOP podcast channel “BOP on The Wire” and via the BOP website, where it will be available in perpetuity.Recording RequirementsTo be able to do the home recording you must have access to:A laptop or computer (not tablet) with a good stable internet connection.A reliable browser like chrome.A quiet room.We will post a suitable microphone out to each actor who is selected.Tips on how to ensure the best recording/ preparing your room for recording.- disable ticking clocks- unplug a fridge or anything that hums- point your mic away from a window or any potential source of sound- close your curtains (this dampens noise from the outside and lessens sound reflections)
