    Are you an experienced Lighting Technician? We are pleased to be recruiting for a skilled technician to join our Lighting department in Stratford-upon-Avon, as our theatre activity gains momentum.In this role you will be working on productions in our exciting and ambitious new Garden Theatre as well in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, as we look forward to resuming live performances. As a Lighting Technician some of your responsibilities will include:·        Offering lighting related support for shows performed on any of the RSC stages·        Assisting with the smooth running of fit-ups, get-ins, rehearsals, performances, changeovers and get-outs on the Stratford stages·        Assisting with fault finding, repair and maintenance of all departmental equipmentWhat will you bring to the role? We are looking for someone who:·        Can operate and programme theatre lighting control systems·        Has knowledge and understanding of stage lighting ·        Enjoys working collaboratively within a team and using their initiative to solve problems This position is offered on a fixed-term basis for 12 months, starting in June. There is potential for this to be extended, subject to the requirements of upcoming productions.Important - Please note, the full-time hours for this role are 48 per week. However, as part of our commitment to recovery from the ongoing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the working hours and salary for this role, alongside many others, have been temporarily reduced to 80% of the full-time rate. This means that the hours on joining will be 38.5 per week. This will be reviewed in December 2021, with the intention of returning to the full-time hours and salary if the circumstances at the time allow.
