    Introduction

Welcome, Dear Friends, do sit for we’ve of a sordid tale to tell and are seeking performers with whom to tell it.

Submitted for your approval, a young man returns from a bucolic university city in the hills of a quiet English countryside town bound for London. A recently made Doctor of Literature, his focus now turns from studies to a broader future ahead. Yet, something within him stirs, as his mind is occupied with ancient texts that follow him, however absurd as they may seem.

Tales of reptoid conspiracies, and a clandestine order that reaches the highest echelons of global influence. An order that shapes the very fabric of our reality and keeps humanity subservient, supplicant to its whims. Wild theories with prophecies that tell of the Babylonian Brotherhood, and one yet to be revealed haunt him.

Thus will we follow Max through blood rituals and intrigue, to the very lair of a cult bent on bringing about the Great Crossing of reptoid overlords when interdimensional worlds align and The Reluctant Lizard Boy embraces his fate...

    Details

The project is currently in its developmental stages with an aim to enter a phase of intensive workshops to follow and further to that presenting the piece to commercial investors at London's SoHo Theatre in due course.

The commitments as yet would firstly involve an informal discussion with one or more of our creative team. Following that, we would want to coordinate our second virtual table reading with a full cast.

Home recording equipment would be ideal as we may ask candidates to record a sample performance of one or more of the characters' songs as something of an informal audition.

Selection in this stage of production does not guarantee casting later in the process, but would lend strength to consideration.

A rock musical sensibility in the style of Rocky Horror, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, with influences also taken from the likes of Tenacious D would be advantageous. The piece also draws from pulp science fiction such as is seen in Little Shop of Horrors, with heavy traces of The Twilight Zone.

Generic application are likely to be dismissed out of hand, we're looking to how you respond to the material and character briefs and can't afford to see those that have not committed the time to merely reading this introductory offering.

    Pay

We are not at present offering pay for involvement in the virtual table reading and sample recordings, though pay may be negotiated as we advance in the process of workshop staging towards an investors presentation.
