Cherwell Theatre Company are seeking 1 Female identifying actor and 1 Male identifying actor from the global majority to play Demeter/Chorus and Zeus/Chorus in MYTH II: Heroes and Halfwits by Tristan Jackson-Pate.About the companySince 2004 Cherwell Theatre Company (CTC) has created an environment where young people can be themselves, make friends and feel a real sense of value. Our Banbury community is at the heart of everything we do. Young people work collaboratively with professional artists, bringing their unique qualities and aspirations to life through inclusive community-based theatre, often in unusual spaces.The projectFollowing 2019's MYTH, which toured to parks, market places and new build housing estates in North Oxfordshire, CTC's youth steering board wish to produce MYTH II, Heroes and Halfwits this summer.Between 20-30 young people will participate in the play's rehearsal and development in July/August 2021 with a team of 4 professional actor-musicians, a writer-director, stage manager, set and costume designer and movement director. The company will then embark on a 7 date tour of outdoor spaces across North Oxfordshire. Fee:A weekly of £494 will be payable over the 4 weeks of the contract. CTC can contribute £200 towards travel expenses but aren't able to pay a relocation allowance, so we are preferably seeking actors with a base local to/within commuting distance of Banbury.
