Logline: Four assassins hunt each other in a film being rehearsed with a director facing the challenge of making a Taratino-like film for a woke audience. Please note that this casting call includes an attached version of the latest draft of the script.Project Details:Script Coverage from Raindance Film Festival described the film as - ‘an extremely likeable script with a concrete story which demonstrates an excellent grasp of the principles of storytelling… Plot elements are exceptional. Plot points: Brilliant’. Additionally the script has placed in the top 9% overall impression of all scripts on industry-leading script coverage site WeScreenplay.com as well as top marks for the scripts structure and characters. Our film is the story of a director trying to make a modern-day film influenced by the work of Tarantino - but one which is also socially and culturally corrected with discourses on female-centric and diversity issues.Additionally, the film takes a self-reflective view on the filmmaking world through depicting relationships, interactions and struggles involved in a creative process in general and making a film in particular - and we intercut between that and the film within a film - which is a lot of fun and actually allows for actors to play two very distinctly different characters; the actor and the character that actor portrays - while also allowing for two distinct visual aesthetics within the film as well. Please do see our 'Welcome' video and a video 'For Actors' available here: https://vimeo.com/viatoremproductionsProduction Personnel:Writer-Director Govind Chandran is a veteran of short filmmaking - having won numerous film festivals over the last decade - including three films showcased at the Cannes Film Festival’s ‘Short Film Corner’, and as a semi-finalist at the Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival. As a writer he's won multiple awards including the prestigious Screenwriters Network Screenplay Competition, and the World Film Carnival in Singapore.A review for his last short film ‘At The End of The Road’ at the Rome Prisma Film Awards stated ‘Chandran can be defined as an excellent craftsman, as well as a very good storyteller. With elegance and courage, Chandran takes advantage of the budget constraints typical of independent cinema’.Chandran also holds a 1st Class Honours degree, a Masters in Film, and is currently Lecturer and Head of Film and at Oxford Brookes University.Working closely with Cinematographer Jamie Laxton in the last 3 years, the team have won more than 15 awards at festivals, including a number of Best Cinematography wins. Their films have been overseen by Producer Joshua Taylor-Davies, and scored by composer Benjamin Doherty - whose work is readily available on Spotify. The last three films done by this team have also resulted in multiple Best Actor / Actress and Best Ensemble Cast awards.Clips from previous works of ours are available at: https://vimeo.com/showcase/8758728 Attachments:
