A major focus of external communications over the next year will be the upcoming launch of Paramount+ in the UK in 2022, which will house content from SHOWTIME®, BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures and the Smithsonian Channel, in addition to a robust offering of local content.What will you be doing?The UK has a dedicated Paramount+ commissioning budget and the successful candidate will be a proactive force in telling the story around this major new addition to the television landscape. If you can identify and develop stories about the content and commercial elements of Paramount+, we want to hear from you.This wide-ranging role also covers the scope of VCN UK’s business priorities, including new programme commissions & acquisitions, as well as in-house productions.Devise and implement corporate communications strategy for:VCN UK’s commercial and editorial ambitions for its streaming services, including Paramount+ My5 and Pluto TV.VCN UK’s content and programming pipeline across pay TV brands, MTV and Comedy Central, and free-to-air public service broadcaster Channel 5.VCN UK’s in-house production arm, VIS UK.VCN UK’s wider lines of business including digital, ad sales and sponsorship, marketing, research and finance, as required.Identify external, profile-raising opportunities for senior UK executives, including Channel 5’s nine Commissioning Editors. Support their preparation ahead of speaking events and interviews.Draft corporate communication materials, including press releases, briefs, Q&As and campaign strategies, to a high standard.Proactively drive positive coverage across a broad range of media.Develop and pitch news stories, features and comment ideas to amplify the business’ activities.Manage media relations for ViacomCBS in the UK across all relevant trade and B2B media.Establish relationships with relevant brand teams, brand publicity teams and international corporate communications colleagues.Manage day-to-day reputational issues arising from content and business activities and support, drafting lines against enquiry.Draft briefs for showreels and oversee creative process.Oversee departmental admin processes, including media monitoring and evaluation, conference programme, speaking opportunities and awards process.Exercise a supportive influence on team members at all levels.What are we looking for?A dynamic, driven self-starterProven communications experience at a relevant level in a related field.Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills.Experience of managing issues management relating to creative content.An understanding of and affinity with VCN UK’s brands.Knowledge of issues impacting the media/entertainment and broadcast industry.Good contacts with relevant trade and B2B media.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.Knowledge of social media and emerging digital trends.Can-do attitude and enthusiasm, flexibility.Everything else!We offer an inclusive environment where you can really be yourself and find your niche.
