We are looking for an actor to play the character of Tituba in a brand new play at The Leeds Playhouse "Furnace Festival".



Character: Tituba was the slave of John Parris and the woman who introduced Abigail to a world she never knew existed. A life of dance, expression and love. A vibrant, exciting soul who, even in the bounds of slavery, builds a life for herself.



Abigail looks at the life of Abigail Williams after the events of the Salem witch trails in 1698.



The play has been accepted into the Furnace Festival at Leeds Playhouse on the 12th November 2021.



We will be performing a 20 minute section of the piece to an audience that will offer feedback.



We will be looking to have at least one rehearsal in LINCOLN ahead of the trip to LEEDS on the 12th November along with online rehearsals.



This is an all female cast designed to explore the psyche of Abigail as she runs away from Salem and ends up in Boston. What happened to this young woman after the events of Salem? How did she end up as a prostitute, tragically dying at the age of 18? This new piece seeks to ask and pose answers to some of these questions?.
