Freelancer recruitment advert - Oct 2021We are looking to build up a small database of freelancers to help us deliver video content to our clients when our in-house team is busy. We need:All RolesThis is an open advert to applicants across the United Kingdom. All roles where you will be on-shoot in a care home will require applicants to be double vaccinated against Covid-19. We will also require freelancers going on shoots to be in possession of a driving licence. Requirements:Open-minded to working in care homes. A caring and patient nature is a must. Sensitive to changing environments, vulnerable people, and potentially uncomfortable interview topics.Willingness to engage in conversation with clients and residents alike, with the ability to be mindful of everyone surrounding the shoot whilst still getting the job done. ProducersRequirements:Being able to gracefully interview residents, family & team members, helping them feel as comfortable as they can be in front of the camera.Fully understanding the plan for the day and working closely with clients on shoots to keep to the schedule but be open and flexible to the changeable environments.Making sure we capture everything needed and communicating with the client when challenges in capturing anything arise. Managing the clients expectations. Being able to think on your feet and spot opportunities for additional content and different angles. Filming experience is helpful but not essential.Confidence in listening to an interviewee and being able to tell instinctively if there is enough of the right content to fulfill the brief and adjusting your questions if not. Having a good eye for detail, occasionally having to rearrange rooms so they look their best on camera, and portray the look and feel that the home is trying to achieve.Having your own driving license and willingness to travel is a must.Must be double vaccinated. Self-Shooting DirectorsRequirements:Can film to a high standard by yourself (with a producer if there are interviews) mainly covering video tours and interviews. Being able to liaise with staff at the homes on the day to agree a schedule around events in the homes (such as activities) in a friendly & flexible manner.Ideally using your own equipment, equivalent to Sony full frame cameras (FX3, A7S 2/3 etc) but you may be able to use our equipment if available. Having a good knowledge of lighting to ensure each area of a home is shown at it’s best, without looking unnaturally lit. Setting up an interview set-up that is lit properly, with a background that is interesting without being distracting.Having a good eye for detail, occasionally having to rearrange rooms so they look their best on camera, and portray the look and feel that the home is trying to achieve.Having your own driving license and willingness to travel is a must.Must be double vaccinated. Camera Ops Requirements:Working with another experienced shooter, you will need to be confident using a variety of cameras in multiple shooting scenarios. This will include filming B-roll and GVs to operating cameras during interviews.At times you will be required to work on your own (for example, operating interview cameras whilst the main camera op/director goes off to film B-roll somewhere else) Either using your own equipment (equivalent to sony full frame cameras) or ours.Having your own driving license and willingness to travel is a must. Must be double vaccinated. PhotographersRequirements:Experienced with photographing people, spaces and food.Comfortable shooting without a large lighting set-up or with none at all.Some experience working in care settings is useful. Great at capturing nice, natural moments and being dynamic to the change of the day.An ability to also work with clients and residents to stage special moments. Available to use own equipment & lighting. Ability to edit photosHaving your own driving license and willingness to travel is a must. Must be double vaccinated. EditorsRequirements: Experience with Premiere Pro & ideally the rest of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.The ability to work with raw footage, cut down interviews and create a storyline that fulfills the brief. The ability to replicate our style of editing videos.To have a good knowledge of colour grading. Having your own edit machine capable of editing 4K footage is helpful but not essential if you are local to our officesAbout UsFive on a Bike is a video production company that focuses on the Care Home sector. We love making videos that help spread the word about the wonderful word of care. The work is interesting and fulfilling (not adrenaline-fueled though!) you will have a lovely time at the homes and meet lots of interesting people. The main characteristics we are looking for in our freelancers would be ‘niceness’ (as well as great work).
