Hello, I am putting out the feelers (a very Los Angeles term) for someone who might be able to do some decent camerawork for me in the future. It's normally something I cover, but have only basic equipment and realize to create what I want to create I'm probably going to have to hand at least one duty off to someone else... A couple years back I got back into the flow and created (some of) a web-series, taking what I learned from that am now thinking about the next thing, post global pandemic. To move forward, I am eyeing up one particular crew member, camera/DOP.

"Paranormal Tales" (not the actual title) will be a somewhat low/micro-budget online web-series love-letter to X Files as a small investigative team search for the real deal amongst a lot of misidentification. With sci-fi, fantasy, investigation flair, but very very low budget. It is planned to be a web-series if nothing else, of 20 minute episodes each with a contained story about the search for ghosts, extra-terrestrials and missing sets of keys. And all the looneys you meet along the way! OR ARE THEY!?

"The Title Is Still A Secret" follows a paranormal enthusiast who is clued in to strange goings on, taking testimony from the often batty witness but with due dilligence each case is investigated and resolved, either as paranormal (rarely) or not paranormal (mostly). A somewhat tongue in cheek and satrical take but with a subtle reverance for the search for true spooky phenomena underneath. Presented as fiction, light horror and sci-fi sequences with nods to factual real world events.

Each episode will likely amount to 4 or 5 full day shoots. I'll be happy to get 1 or 2 episodes filmed, TBH. I will be directing, probably acting to begin with to save some cash, editing and sound. Will likely be nothing like whatever it is I'm seeing in my mind right now - but am just keen on film-making in any capacity at this time. If I can find someone with some nice lenses and good use of depth of field then I can rest easy on the camera work and there may be further opportunities (as this will allow me to conentrate on producing/directing). I don't really mind your equipment so long as it films HD 1080 and you are a hot shot on manual focus!

Budget will mostly go on locations, actors, camera person and effects. God willing. Shoots will be nothing glamarous, but we will undoubtedly tour the countryside and maybe secure something more interesting along the way. If you drive, that's a plus, but not essential. Don't think too much of it yet, though, as it's crucial I find some potential camera operators before comitting to this. However, every intention to film in the warmer weather of Spring 2022, possibly earlier if I find an interesting interior & story for it...

If all else fails, I am happy to find someone who will come along and hold my crappy cameras. So if you are just keen to film, and have some kind of evidence of that, feel free to apply! Like I said, I just need to allay a duty or two and reel ambition in a bit to make sure budget can work and "more than last time" can be achieved. Thanks for your consideration!
