    Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief, the role will be responsible for creating innovative and beautiful design for the magazine.The successful candidate will have a proven track record in leading a team, as they will be responsible for managing the small but busy art desk and will also work closely with writers, editors, stylists, heads of department and the editor. The ideal candidate will have excellent contacts with UK and international photographers, illustrators and stylists.Previous experience working on a luxury magazine is a must, as is an understanding of the TATLER brand and world.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesIn charge of the art direction (visuals and design) of the magazine.Work closely with the Editor-in-Chief, section editors, art and pictures team to produce great layouts and adhere to the workflow.Ensuring all pages are checked thoroughly before they are sent to press – including checking proofs and sherpas – and liaising with the Production and Repro team.Overseeing the commission of shoots for the magazine: fashion, still-life, portraiture.Managing the design team’s workload effectively through delegation.Mentoring the art department to meet deadlines and maintain the exceptional standards of the TATLER brand.Working with Tatler's digital editors to create content that brings the magazine to life via Tatler.com and our social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube).Overseeing the creative direction of Tatler.com and the art direction of video projects (from interview franchises like 'Tea With Tatler'; to timeline videos made using archive footage and images).Essential Skills & RequirementsHigh proficiency with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge and InDesign is essential.Excellent knowledge of magazine design, typography, photography and illustration.Top contacts – designers, stylists, illustrators and photographers – within the magazine industry.Meticulous eye for detail.Excellent communication skills.Ability to think laterally and creatively to come up with great design solutions quickly and efficiently in a demanding and challenging environment.Extremely well organised and good at managing and juggling projects – big and small.Successful team-management experience.An understanding of the aesthetic and editorial style and tone of Tatler.com and our social media channels, plus experience art directing videos with a slick, glamorous and modern feel.
