I run weekly- fortnightly immersive theatre walking tours. The tours are 1.5 hours in the city of London, from 8pm-9.30pm on Friday evenings. We have maximum 20 guests per tour, with an average of 12. For more info, check out www.hexandthecity.co.uk.



I am looking for an acting stage manager with some experience to help me run the tours from January 2022 on a self-employed basis. The role is basically carrying and arranging the props at each stop on the tour route, with limited short speaking parts.



There are also some small costume changes (masks/hats) and one scene which requires you to slowly beat a drum. The entire tour is outside, on the streets, around Farringdon and St Paul's area. 



I would anticipate to run tours fortnightly in January, however it really depends on how many tickets sell! There may be weeks where there is no work, so it's important that the candidate has flexibility and doesnt expect definite work every week or fortnight. I would give plenty of notice however. Depending on the season and peak periods (such as festive or halloween specials for example) there is likely to be more work at certain times and less at others. 



It is not a complicated role but reliability, efficiency and attention to detail is a must. You must also be reasonably fit. The props are not heavy but there are several bags and you need to be able to run between positions and locations. 



Pay will be a 25% percentage of the overall takings from each tour, with a minimum of £20 and a maximum of £75 for the 1.5 hours.
