What is evil? Is it the freemasons? the illuminati? Or perhaps even your local Job Centre? Belial seeks to answer all in a deliciously evil blend of gritty social realism and horror.Set in Greater Manchester, Belial focuses on the character of Judy, a confident but weary woman, trapped in a cycle of poverty in which selling possessions on a constant basis is just enough to scrape by. However, once a TV crew arrives at her door, demanding overdue money, Judy accesses her late grandfather's accursed possessions leading to a chain of events that culminate in a cult looking to possess her for their own vile desires.  Working under Mase Pictures (Mase Pics), the crew are an independent group of extremely gifted and passionate film makers from across the UK. With backgrounds in a multitude of areas from Theatre to Fashion Design and of course, film making, we aim to create a project that everyone involved with can benefit and take great pride in helping create.Characters: If you feel you don't fully meet the physical descriptions, we encourage you to still apply for said characters. Utilising a wealth of talent and creative practitioners, we aim to provide an opportunity for a talented and creative cast to truly display their range and craft to a wide audience. Remuneration: Whilst the project is produced to professional. Industry standards, this is a low budget indie short. As such we are unable to offer payment for this project. All travel expenses will be covered and meals/food/drink on set will be provided. Copies of the film, coverage in all publicity material, show reel material and an IMBD credit will be provided to cast members.
