'Notion' is the second independent feature film by writer/director Mark Duggan (his previous feature, 'X', is available to rent via Amazon Prime and Vimeo On Demand).



The new feature film is currently in pre-production and will be shooting in Summer 2022. The plot revolves around a woman in her late 20's who begins reflecting on her life, her dreams and romantic longings. 



There are a number of roles that need to be cast. Mark is particularly interested in hearing from actors based in and around Greater Manchester/Lancashire but will consider applications from further afield.



Penny - lead character (25-30). Educated and caring, she works in a high school as a teacher. She has become particularly reflective as she approaches the milestone of turning 30. Preferably a northern accent. Required for a block of filming – 2/3 weeks - over the summer months (July/August tbc).Matt - male lead (25-30). Matt has creative aspirations outside of his day-to-day job as a teacher. Dry sense of humour. He is a bit of a loner but has a sensitive heart. Preferably a northern accent. Required for a block of filming – 2/3 weeks - over the summer months (July/August tbc).Tim (late 20's, early 30's). Penny’s partner. Content with life but has a bit of a ‘slacker’ attitude: he enjoys a night out with his mates and watching a good action movie. Approximately 4/5 days of filming.John – Penny’s father. Easy-going and a nice guy. Enjoys going to watch his favourite football team. Supporting role (one or two days of filming).



There are a number of other supporting roles available and so there are further opportunities to be cast in this project if you are unsuccessful in your application for one of the roles listed above.
