Hollow House is a story of grief not for what has already gone but what has yet to be lost. To protect her family, Maggie has isolated them deep into the forest, only her intentions are soon questioned. Is she truly trying to protect her family? Or herself?. With an outside source trying to contact her, the illusion Maggie has created to preserve her family begins to break. She sees things as they truly are, projections and shells of the memories she is beginning to lose but is refusing to let go of. She becomes paranoid and fearful of her family. It is only a matter of time until she must face the truth and accept that she cannot maintain this illusion for much longer. Only in leaving the house and reuniting herself with the outside world can she learn that letting go is not always a bad thing. Memories will fade and become clouded, but their foundations will always remain with us.
