SYNOPSIS:



The Rivet Squad were a team of five working class men contributing towards the building of the Titanic, for 1 penny per rivet. This short narrative follows the team of five in exploring the expectations and dangerous conditions in building the Titanic that the working class had to endure to make a living. The squad members are as followed:



- The Heater Boy: Would fire the rivet in a furnace with tongs and would throw it to the Catch boy. 

- The Catch Boy: Threw it to the Holder Upper. 

- The Holder Upper: Placed it into the hole, braced it and communicated via morse code to the riveters on the other side of the wall by banging on the metal. 

- The Left- and Right-handed riveters: Would hammer on the head of the rivet until it was in place. 



PRODUCTION:



We will be shooting in Falmouth and Charlestown throughout February - March allowing for potential reshoots.

This is a low-budget student short film that will include a premiere and submissions to film festivals.



AUDITIONS:



There will be two rounds of auditions, for each role and a third specifically including the roles BILLY and PETE. The first round will be via zoom which will include the Director, Producer and Screenwriter. The second round will take place in Falmouth University in person which will also include the Director, Producer and Screenwriter. This second round will also include a camera test that will include a brief costume fit.



We will be casting understudies for each role for the purpose of potential COVID-19 interruptions. These understudies will be guaranteed a position as an extra in the film.
