    Our mission is to reach new audiences, on new platforms with new digital content.This role will create video aimed specifically for young audiences distributed on ITV News' social platforms including Snapchat, Instagram and TikTok, as part of a team dedicated to producing youth content. The products the producer will be working on include The Rundown, our award-winning daily news service for 14-17 year olds, plus a new range of content aimed at the 18-24 audience due to roll out in early 2022.For The Rundown, you'll produce a daily news round-up to deadline, so the ability to confidently edit in Adobe Premiere with graphic templates is essential, alongside being full of story ideas that suit the Rundown audience and the ability to write stories in an engaging way for the 14-17 audience.For the 18-24 service, you'll create compelling and visually engaging videos, explainers and social posts, plus curate the best of ITV News' television journalism for the 18-24 audience on social. You'll also create videos on topics and issues close to the heart of that age group. You’ll also create bespoke content for our TikTok channel.The ideal candidates will be able to come up with great ideas, storyboard videos and use motion graphics to produce videos that grab and hold the attention of young people on their mobiles - and you'll have the experience and showreel to demonstrate this.For both the Rundown and 18-24 content, there will be an element of presenting/voicing over video, alongside the editing, producing and filming which make up the majority of the role - previous on-screen experience isn't essential but if you have any examples of on-screen work, please include them with your application.The role will be based in our London newsroom and involves a shift pattern which includes weekend working.ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate distinctive judgement about digital storytelling. A proven track record of innovative storytelling techniques to deliver news for a young, mobile-first audienceCreate mobile-first video for social platforms using material from ITV News programmes, live content and archive, with the aim of reaching an 18-24 audience on social who don't watch ITV News television outputCreate original videos on topics and issues of relevance to the 18-24 audience, demonstrating an innate understanding about the stories that interest this age groupUse graphics to deliver visually engaging videos and help define the visual identity of the new serviceWrite scripts for short and long form video of the highest quality, aimed at the target audience but within the highest expectations and standards of the ITV News brandEdit multiple videos a week, with the ability to produce complex video to tight deadlinesWhen required, shoot material to the highest standardProvide imaginative treatments for complex stories, presenting complex ideas simply and in an engaging wayProduce videos to the highest standards of quality, accuracy and trust, in line with audience expectations of ITV News and Ofcom regulations.Create compelling social posts that will drive engagement with our content, including thumbnails and descriptions for videos when uploaded to social channelsWork in accordance with ITN guidelines on health and safety in the office and in the fieldRelish working with new mediums and formats, adapting content in response to new platforms, audience demands, and analyticsThese are the main requirements of the role and is not an exhaustive list of duties. It is intended to reflect the nature, range, and context of the work, which will change over time.QualificationsA first class video editor and storyteller who can produce compelling videos on a wide range of subjects to a young audience - both in 16x9 and vertical formatsAbility to source news stories and trending topics for stories of relevance to the target audience and delivering them in an exciting and engaging wayExcellent writing skills and a proven track record of being able to break down complex stories clearly and conciselyExperience of using motion graphics (Adobe After Effects) to deliver visually engaging videos and to enhance storytelling on mobile devicesAbility to edit under time pressure and to a high standardExcellent understanding of the topics and issues of interest to young audiencesAbility to storyboard and script videos in an authentic and engaging way to the target audienceAbility to shoot material to the highest standardAbility to present on screen with a personable, conversational and relatable deliveryHighest standards of accuracy and attention to detail around often complex and controversial materialA proven track record of delivering stories that strike at the heart of a youth audienceAbility to innovate in digital video formats.A proven record as a team player, as well as someone who's able to work alone and self-motivated when requiredExpert understanding and knowledge of social media, working across a wide variety of platformsExperience of writing for and posting online content via a Content Management System (desired)Knowledge of legal and compliance issues that can arise when producing content
