    Working in the Network Scheduling Team within Network Origination Services this role will be responsible for supporting the Supervisor in leading the Team in their daily responsibilities of  presentation scheduling across our portfolio of Pay and FTA channels in the EMEA region. It involves liaising with the Programme Planning team, Inventory Management, Media Planning team as well as Content Operations and Media Asset Management, to ensure the delivery of fully optimized and compliant schedules. The role is responsible for scheduling activities across Pay TV and Free to Air Discovery brands including live event scheduling and scenario planning.The Lead will possess a broad level knowledge of the scheduling process, system interfaces and business processes, and be adaptable and efficient in a pressurized environment while also acts as the key support to the Supervisor and as such requires excellent communication skills and good organisational and leadership qualities.ResponsibilitiesSupporting the Supervisor in coaching and team development and in the induction process, performance monitoring, recruitment and team/feed planning.Executing training plans and assisting in training new employeesAssisting Supervisor in leading the team in the day to day workflowsPreparing daily programme schedules, ensuring they are all accurate for transmission according to applicable regulations on all feeds.Delegating tasks as required.Schedule complex feeds across the Discovery portfolio as required, to cover holiday, sickness and feed changes.Working with Supervisor and partner Lead Schedulers providing advice and guidance on the business workflows, SOPs, presentation systems and processes to the wider team.Interpreting media plans in order to maximize effectiveness of all inventory.Supporting to organize and plan staffing for holidays and coverPromoting best practice workflows in IBMS and business workflows and supporting system testing requirements.Liaison with 3rd parties (e.g. External Advertising Sales Agency, Regional Sales Houses, and External Play-out Service Provider) as required.Liaising with Content Ops, Media Planning, Inventory management and programme planning team to follow up technical issues related to scheduled materials such as promotions, commercials, sponsorships, etc.Actively supporting Supervisor in working collaboratively with other departments such as Planning, On Air & Ad Sales to ensure their requirements are being fulfilled within the schedules.Liaising professionally with Broadcast Operations as required with regard to on air presentation queries and editorial guidance relating to schedule.Taking a proactive role in the on-air look and strategy of the channel by regular monitoring and reviewing of feed.Providing and combining weekly and ad hoc reports as requested by ManagementProviding support and team trouble shooting as required.Carrying out any other presentation tasks that are appropriate and in line with the positionTaking part in the On-Call procedure, be first point of contact in queries regarding the schedules organized via an on -call rotaHigh level organization skills and proven track record of efficient scheduling under pressure.Representing Network scheduling professionallyAssisting and supporting other teams within the Network Origination Services department with various ad-hoc tasks as needed.QualificationsExperience in a Pay TV / Free to Air scheduling role. Candidates with experiences considered to be equivalent may be considered. Proven experience of leading a team.A Team player with the ability to work in teams cross department and cross territorialIn depth knowledge of the Scheduling system IBMS or equivalent system. Good insight and understanding of the end to end broadcast chain. Proactive in trouble-shooting, problem solving and avoidance of issues.Excellent communication skills and ability to represent Network Scheduling at meetings.Good knowledge of break optimisation and marketing Strategies for a commercial channel. Strong knowledge of compliance requirements across EMEA regulatory bodies, Such as NICAM, BLM and Ofcom amongst others.Willingness to take responsibility and work on own initiativeAbility to work as part of a wider team and to interpret instructions appropriately.Great organisation skills with outstanding attention to detail. Ability to motivate, organise and support a team effort.Proactive individual with a “can do” attitude but knows when to escalate issues.Ability to be proactive and highly motivated.
