The short graduation film follows a young fighter and a boxing coach as they overcome their own personal trauma's and agree to train together. The film is a drama that will be told in a social realist or realism style. Nuanced performances and strong acting talent will be a key part of the film's success.

Logline: An eager young fighter with a disproving family and a boxing coach with a traumatic past, try to overcome their personal issues by letting each other into their lives.

Synopsis: After an underground boxing fight, Roy, an eager young fighter who feels alienated by his disapproving upper-class family, approaches boxing coach Dave, in the hope to begin training with him. But Dave has demons of his own that he must first overcome before he can help Roy. After Roy walks out on his toxic family, he helps Dave put his past traumas behind him. They decide to start training together and begin to make Roy the boxer he's always dreamed of being.

The film will hopefully screen at festivals around the UK and other territories. After its festival run, it will be available on Vimeo/youtube or via a link.

I am currently a student filmmaker, I have made a number of short films both in and out of university and am looking to work in the film industry after graduating.

Roy (the fighter) and Dave (the boxing coach) will need to have either a background in boxing and martial art or some interest in boxing and martial art. As there will be some scenes in which the actors are required to do boxing training (pad work, bag work) and having someone who knows what they're doing will only grow the believability of the film. So you could say that the film involves some minor stunt work if you class boxing training as stunt work.
