    Job PurposeIn this role you will support digital education and the student experience at the Adam Smith Business School. You will also produce, shoot, and edit video to support learning and teaching and the student experience. In addition you will support upskilling academics through training in how to create and edit high quality video content.Main Duties and Responsibilities1. Conceives of and develops creative solutions for addressing internal Business School initiatives through accessible multi-media assets. Provides expertise as the School’s videographer and the main point of contact for internal video development across the School. This includes engaging with and supporting academic staff in using video and graphics to support their course content by providing training, advice and guidance.2. Creates video content and supports every facet of video production, including writing, producing, shooting and editing high quality video for learning and teaching in the School. This may also include motion graphics, animation and audio. The videographer will develop storytelling ideas and fulfil assignments in collaboration with Business School professional services staff and academics.3. Administrative responsibilities include supporting the creation and maintenance of archives and records for accreditation purposes, reflecting operational activities, costs of services, and inventory of productions, ensuring content is GDPR compliant, collecting and storing GDPR consent. 4. Responsible for providing internal video training.5. Maintains a current understanding of the updates on digital landscape of live-streaming and video recording.6. Maintains all equipment in proper working order including troubleshooting and minor repairs as necessary.7. Edits and assembles final visual/audio program material creating compelling and visually interesting products; observes brand standards, ensures consistency of message with the end user in mind; monitors technical quality of end product; ensures a high quality of content and ensures all content produced is accessible and in compliance with accessibility regulations.8. Responsible for operating video cameras, production and lighting equipment. Scouts shoot locations and assesses possible obstacles in filming and provides solutions or alternatives.9. Keeps up-to-date with multimedia best practice in the higher education sector - in Scotland, the UK and internationally. Knowledge of the latest photo and video software and equipment, ability to handle multiple deadlines and clients, and ability to work flexible hours, weekends and evenings as required.10.
