Casting for 'Delight In The Woods'

"Background of the show’s creation:
This show is created by Delight (Arts-based learning-programme charity) in partnership with Zoo Co (multi-award winning theatre company) and the National Trust team at Box Hill. Zoo Co's recent work includes 5* sell out show 'Perfect Show For Rachel' at Barbican. This is an immersive show set in the woods in Box Hill, an area located in the North Downs in Surrey. After 2 successful years of delivering this project (2018, 2019), Delight In The Woods is now back for it’s 3rd year (after a pause due to covid).

The show itself:
Year 3 children from 10 different primary schools (with the support of teaching staff) visit Box Hill assuming they are going for a school trip walk in the woods. What the children don’t know is that on their journey they will become immersed in ‘StoryLand’, where they will encounter intriguing characters facing a range of dilemmas. The show features 5 characters. First Ruby, who leads the children around the woods. With her they then meet ‘for the first time’ Trixi, Bert/Bertina, William and Sally who are fixed in different spots around the woods.

The outcome:
Tailored specifically to the individual children and working with the class teacher, this immersive, unfolding experience ignites the imaginations of the children and empowers them in their role as ‘The Best Storytellers in the World’.
