Casting "Sorry You're Leaving," a short student film.

Logline: Kira meets the full-scale invasion far away from her native Kherson, on the outskirts of London. As Kira’s mother goes missing whilst trying to escape occupied territories, Kira’s chances to see her mum and only ties with Ukraine disappear each day.

Student states: "A few words about myself (the director) - I am Ukraine-born, London-based filmmaker/producer, who recently decided to step into director’s shoes. I am currently finishing a directing course led by an awards-winning and highly acclaimed Ukrainian director and screenwriter.

The comedy drama aims to deal with the subject of people trying to fit into foreign societies, and ‘lost in translation’ moments with the backdrop of current events in Ukraine."
