Project Details
White Horse is now casting actors for school tours in Germany. We are Europe's largest educational touring theatre, performing to over 450,000 people per year and will shortly be holding our main annual auditions.
We are looking for three groups consisting of two men and two women, each to perform in three plays aimed at different age-groups. The repertoire includes Shakespeare’s "The Comedy of Errors" and Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion as well as a wide selection of issue-based plays for teenage audiences, and movement-based plays for younger audiences.
We are looking for actors who specifically enjoy working with young audiences. Singing and movement skills would be useful. Although driving is not essential, actors who can drive will have a better chance of being cast. A smattering of German would be useful. All actors must be native speakers of English.
The most important quality needed is the desire to do the job. Those who are cast will find themselves in a foreign country for 9 or 11 months; will have to live, work and socialise together; will have to get up very early most mornings; will have to drive long distances; will have to load and unload vans and participate in all aspects of touring. We are therefore looking for people who are physically and emotionally healthy and robust, and who are prepared to enjoy the experience of living and working in Germany. White Horse Theatre encourages applications from actors of all ethnic origins.
