Casting actors for a short film. Production states; " Casting call for a 90-second film being produced with Anglia Ruskin University X Shakespeare's Globe. A modern musical comedy adaptation of a scene from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream. It centers around two elderly home residents who are celebrating a birthday. The description of the film is as followed: During a birthday celebration at the elderly home, a disapproving friend does a tell-all about the scheme held by other residents. Looking to cast a female for the lead role and Co-star, between the playing ages of 60-80. Since the film is a musical comedy, the lead role (only) requires someone who is a confident singer.
Also, we would like to cast two female child actors, between the playing ages of 7-10, preferably sisters, although it is not exclusive to them. The role is non-race specific, so we welcome actors from a range of racially diverse backgrounds. Here are some details about the project: The production will take place the first week of May 2023. The production location will be in Cambridge, UK.
The completed film will be streamed across The Globe’s Twitter, YouTube and Facebook in June 2023 - giving us real impact and global reach. Films produced in previous years received news coverage in countries as far as Australia! The film will also stream on ARU’s social media. Also, we are being executively produced by Hans Petch (who produced Jonathan Ross’ BBC ONE film show for over seven years)."
