About me
I am an American composer-pianist based in Clapham, London. Originally from northern California, I came to London 12 years ago to do a PhD, which I earned in April 2011 (Kings College London), and happily have stayed - I now divide my time between composing for video art and experimental theatre, performing, and teaching at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
I regularly play with Velodrome, MUSARC, and the London Improvisers Orchestra, and have played in recent years with Southbank Gamelan Ensemble and squib-box. A few recent venues: The Victoria Dalston, Mascara Bar (Stoke Newington), iKlectik Art Cafe (Waterloo), London Festival of Architecture (Battersea Power Station), Handel House (Mayfair).
I'm particularly interested in working with experimental theatre-makers, video artists, choreographers and filmmakers. Recently I did sound design for three staged readings at the Gate Theatre (Notting Hill) of three European plays in translation, as part of an AHRC Leadership Project, 'Translating Theatre: "Foreignisation on Stage"'.
I also enjoy accompanying opera and musicals, which I have done off and on for 22 years.
