The "How Soon is Now" singer weighed in on the conversation surrounding the recent sexual misconduct allegations against Weinstein and Spacey.

Morrissey said it was “ridiculous” that Spacey was removed from Ridley Scott’s upcoming film “All the Money in The World” also stating that Spacey has been “attacked unnecessarily.”

Speaking to Der Spiegel, the 58-year-old said: "I was never in situations like this in my youth.

"Never. I was always aware of what could happen. When you are in somebody's bedroom, you have to be aware of where that can lead to."

"People know exactly what's going on," he said, "and they play along.

"Afterwards, they feel embarrassed or disliked. And then they turn it around and say, 'I was attacked, I was surprised'.

"But if everything went well, and if it had given them a great career, they would not talk about it," he continued.

"I hate rape... But in many cases, one looks at the circumstances and thinks that the person who is considered a victim is merely disappointed.

"Anyone who ever said 'I like you' to someone else is suddenly being charged with sexual harassment."

Morrissey's 11th studio album "Low in High School" was released last week (November 17) and embarks on a US tour tomorrow (Wednesday) starting at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis, Missouri, US.
