Open casting call for Steven Spielberg's West Side Story movie next week – apply here!

The casting is for male and female dancers "with a strong dance background and the ability to sing" between the ages of 15 and 25.

The brief states that "the Sharks are Latinx, the Jets are Caucasian."

Auditions – held by casting director Cindy Tolan – will take place in Brooklyn, New York, US.

Men's sign-in will begin at 9am and women's at 1pm and video submissions will also be permissible.

Candidates are requested to "come warmed up and ready to dance in the proper attire/shoes."

Men should "wear comfortable movement clothes and bring jazz shoes or sneakers."

Women should "wear comfortable movement clothes and bring character heels, ballet or jazz flats and a rehearsal skirt."

Talent will be seen on a first come, first served basis and must prepare 16 bars of a classical musical theatre song with sheet music.
