Lockdown has left many of us longing for a platform to showcase our creativity. For those desperate to try out their new stand up material, skit or even an original comedic character that has been perfected, we wanted to provide the perfect opportunity for this.

The Mandy Comedy Competition provided the perfect platform for performers to showcase their comedic talents to our platform of 2.9 million users and a global community, as well as winning a career-boosting prize: a golden one-on-one session with a top casting director in their area and glory on Mandy's social media channels. We had hundreds of incredible submissions! Why not check out the winner below and some of the fantastic members we believe deserve a special mention?

Jake Katzman - Child Actor, USA - WINNER

Jake showcases his comedic acting chops in his winning submission: Covid Connection! Presenting a satirical look at dating shows, he poses the question of where you would take Billie Eilish on a date to two of his original characters: Kenney Kardashian (the Kardashian’s long-lost brother) and Charles, the seemingly dim-witted captain of a football team. These characters and the concept are reminiscent of what could be a top SNL sketch, and Jake’s performance ability has helped amass him the most likes in the Mandy Comedy Competition - congrats, Jake!

We launched our Comedy Competition to provide an opportunity for our members to showcase their talent in a creative way, all the while sharing their submission and Instagram profile with a global community, ensuring they are able to grow their digital presence in this climate. During this pandemic we have been overwhelmed by the tenacity and strength of the Mandy community, and the talent displayed in our Comedy Competition is testament to this.
