Seeking Performers, to work in a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school settings, for Parker Smith Inclusion, a recruitment organization working with SEND schools and colleges providing consultancy and staffing. Students are supported by a multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists. The professional will proactively engage and interact with children and young people through play-based and sensory-related activities in classroom settings. There are 6 to 8 pupils per class with 3 or more adults. Talent will support children and young people diagnosed with Autism/ASC, moderate to severe learning disabilities, and/or complex medical needs. Some of the students are non-verbal and have a wide range of learning difficulties. Some students may also have physical disabilities and are wheelchair users. Being able to use Makaton (sign language) or PECs is ideal. Personal Care (feeding and toileting) and hydrotherapy are required as this is a part of the job. Must have TIE experience, or want to work in a school setting.
