    Perform are looking for proactive engineering talent to join our Live Engineering Support team. This team are central to all live video workflows in Perform including the engineering support of MCR and PCR operations, OTT streaming, contribution from broadcasters and distribution to broadcast clients.The candidate should have previous knowledge or experience of broadcast technology & systems, contribution & distribution encoding technology and an understanding of satellite and fibre communications. The role will be suited for broadcast engineers looking to hone their skills in the ever-diverging broadcast and IT industries.Although the primary function is to support the live video platform and systems, there will be a requirement for project work covering research, design, implementation, testing and documentation.As part of a fast growing company they will have a hands-on approach to all elements of the work, and will want to be part of an enthusiastic team that are constantly striving to improve and develop both individually and as a company.The successful candidate must be passionate about broadcast video and media technology.The Live Engineering Support department carries out all system and equipment maintenance of the live video platforms to ensure 24/7 365 availability of service.This is a shift based role.WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR NEW ROLE? % of roleSupport operational staff to achieve the highest availability of signal acquisition, routing and delivery 40Monitor and troubleshoot incoming and outgoing IP video feeds, video streaming to Content Delivery Networks and video transcoding server farms. 30Work alongside project and development teams to help deliver major projects and improve monitoring systems 20Assist with the configuration and on-going maintenance of broadcast video equipment 10DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW?Skill Level (out of 4)Broadcast contribution encoding, satellite and fibre delivery fault analysis 3Experience in troubleshooting live video workflows 3Awareness of future video technologies 3Broadcast production facility infrastructure 3DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?Automation Tools (Dataminer) & Scheduling Tools (ScheduAll)Ticketing systems and knowledge basesUnderstanding of Transport Stream Analysis tools.Coding and software development experience.
