    Hello!

I am seeking for creative, ambitious people, preferably people with art department experience, for the following positions:

    - 3 Set Dressers

    - 1 Prop Master and 1 Prop Assistant

    - 2 Art PAs

Please apply with availability, and previous film/ art dept. experience. If you have a portfolio, please send that as well!

The American Film Institute is one of the World's most prestigious film school's, working at AFI Thesis shootings, will give you valuable set experience, and will earn you IMDB credit.

As this is a student film, compensation will guarantee meals for each shoot day, possibly for prep days, and of course film credit. You will also have the opportunity to network within AFI circles, which usually lead to future gigs.

Once the film is complete, it will be submitted to prestigious festivals around the world. It will premiere in the fall of 2018 at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.

    About the story:

“Watermark” explores the repercussions of rape in a woman’s life many years after the fact. Meg, a young painter, experiences a dramatic setback that threatens her relationship in the weeks preceding her wedding.  She is haunted once again by flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and endless doubts.  As memories of her assault drive a dangerous wedge between she and her fiancé, Meg must find a way to integrate the reality of her past into her present life in order to move forward.

The main themes of the film—that healing is not linear, that trauma often mars otherwise happy moments, and that even still, being traumatized doesn’t make you unlovable—are important messages. This story, Meg’s story, is tragically common. We hope this film will help those who feel silenced to feel heard, and those who love them to understand them a little bit better.

At least one in four women of college age have been sexually assaulted. These women often carry the emotional weight of what happens to them their entire lives. The idea that the journey from “victim” to “survivor” is entirely curative is false. For many, sexual assault is like a chronic illness; on a good day, the symptoms may abate, but it never completely goes away.

As we have seen recently through the "Me Too" campaign that swept social media, sexual harassment and assault affect all women to some degree. It's time we start talking frankly about the repercussions of living in a society that accepts violating boundaries as the norm. Through art, I hope, we can begin to change it.

Feel free to contact me with any questions!

    Thank you,
