    GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Technical Stage Manager oversees all technical processes which lead to the realization of the production. He/ she works on a worldwide tour as part of a team of an international crew. The Stage Manager is responsible for the organization of the load-in, load-out, maintenance and running of the show.The Stage Manager reports to the Tour Manager and together with the Performance Supervisor is a member of the tour staff. As member of the tour staff the Stage Manager is responsible for communicating and upholding company policies & procedures and decisions by the Tour Manager.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ManagementManaging the crew in a pro-active and responsible way. Ensuring good communication and upholding all policies and procedures as laid down by Holiday on Ice Productions B.V.Guide, coach, control, evaluate (with the Tour Manager), develop and motivate crew members. Creating a positive working environment, to help them members optimize their performance.Reporting and cooperation with other departments The Stage Manager reports directly to the Tour Manager and keeps other departments on tour and in the Head Office informed, this includes but is not limited to:- On a weekly basis providing the Tour Manager and Production department per city reports on technical issues and a registration of the working hours;- Attend and pro-actively participate in the weekly tour staff meetings with the Tour Manager and Performance Supervisor;- Taking part in approving rigging plots process and communicate them with venues and/or country managers;- Effectively communicate with venue supervisors, and Front of House staff;- Together with the Tour Manager organizing and participating in annual evaluations for each performer to assess their creative interpretation and development.Load-in and Load-out- Supervising and managing the 'load in' to a venue, when the set, lighting and sound are installed, and the 'load out', when all the equipment is removed;- Supervising packing and unpacking of the equipment into or onto road trucks.SafetyThe Stage Manager is responsible for communicating and upholding the Health & Safety procedures set by Holiday on Ice and make sure all crew members, including local personnel follow these.Publicity eventsWhenever requested, providing assistance with organizing publicity events and planning performers’ schedules for i.e. photo-shoots, press-calls performances, dinner-show performances, special events (X-mas gigs, for example). Other tasks- Planning and ordering (after approval of the Tour Manager) local labour and supplies for installation and running of the show;- Planning work for the whole crew;- Making an inventory lists at the beginning and the end of production;- Making updates for technical rider of the show, whenever necessary;- Planning and purchasing consumables show materials.SKILLS & REQUIREMENTSThere are no formal academic requirements for entry, although employer prefers candidates with management postgraduate qualifications with theatre or show work experience.- Good technical knowledge and skills (in sound, lighting and props);- IPAF license 1a, 3a, 3b;- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings;- Ability to work and travel worldwide;- Must possess strong organization and team working skills;- Must possess good communication skills in English and preferably multi-lingual;- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under stressful situations;- Ability to work with CAD software applications;- Ability for flexible work schedule, which includes evening, nights and weekend work.
