    About me

Dario Campanaro, bass-baritone, was born in Chioggia in 1988.

At the age of 16 he started training his vocal skills with Ambra Baccaglini.

He was attracted by gospel, soul, r’n’b music and inspired by Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandcross, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Take 6, Boys II Men and many other singers.

He participated in a training stage with Luca Pitteri and later with Fabrizio Palma, both vocal coaches in the Italian TV talent show called “Amici”.

He then kept on training with Vittorio Zambon.

Dario took part in several singing competitions, winning the third prize in Rovigo in 2004 and the first prize on November 2006; the following year he performed as back vocalist for Aldo Tagliapietra, frontman of the italian band “Le Orme”.

On the 18th of October 2007 he was called to sing at the International Phoniatrics Conference in Ravenna as a representative performer of modern singing: on that occasion he duetted with Massimo Bertacci with the song “When you believe”.

As time passed by, his love for classical music and opera increase more and more. In October 2007 he passed the entrance exam of the Conservatory in Padua, where he began his classical singing training with Cosetta Tosetti, soprano.

In October 2008 he attended the masterclass “Vocal Technique and Modern Science”.

In march of 2010 he obtained the role of Jesus in “Die Sieben Worte” by Schutz, with Sergio Balestracci as conductor.

Dario kept on training the study of voice -both spoken and sung- with Antonella Calabrese, speech therapist.

In 2011 he took his first degree in “Languages, Literatures and Modern Cultures” in Padua with the senior thesis on “The Writing as Therapy: Isabel Allende and the Catharsis in Paula”.

In 2012 he performed the Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang (symphony n.2 op. 52) for a radio live recording for channel 2.

The orchestra was conducted by Christopher Hogwood in the RAI Concert Hall, in Turin.

The duality between different musical styles does not create any conflict: Dario can alternate between different genres with versatility.

Since 2012 he started composing his own first songs on the pianoforte, which he learned to play during his training at the Conservatory.

Furthermore, he began his experience as a vocal coach in three different music schools:

•From October 2012 to 2015 in Chioggia at “Associazione Lirico Musicale Clodiense” School and

    •From October 2012 to 2015 at CEM School (Music Educational Center) in Padua;

•At “Amica Musica” School in Sottomarina from 2013 to 2015.

In the meantime he never stopped working on his technique.

In the summer of 2013 he took part in a Jazz Masterclass with Amy London, the newyorker jazz singer.

In February of 2014 he took his music degree at the Conservatory of Padua.

In 2015 he moved to London to improve his language skills and settle into English life.
