  About me

  Louis Yssel has a story as compelling and real as you are likely to hear in the world of pop or classical music. His journey began when he was noticed at the age of 18 by an international act, Mario Frangoulis, who was performing at the Sun City Superbowl in South Africa. Mario was so impressed with Louis’ talent, that he invited him to perform on stage and Louis gave his first professional performance to a crowd of 6,000. He had found his home on stage, and wowed the crowd with a truly outstanding performance.

  Such is the talent of this young man that where other artists spend years trying to establish a career that allows them to perform at the famous Superbowl, Louis’ debut performance was in the same venue where legends such as Freddie Mercury and Frank Sinatra have stood and enchanted audiences.

  There was simply no stopping this incredible talent after his first appearance. Less than a year after his Superbowl debut, he performed at the Classical Concert under African skies, in the Valley of Waves on New Year’s Eve, Miss South Africa as well as a host of other events.

  Louis is no stranger to working with international acts. At the age of 19 he opened for 4 times Grammy award winner Seal and in 2007 he opened for 9 times Grammy award winner John Legend in the Sun City Superbowl. Later that year Louis recorded his first solo album "Reflections" and was selected as "Artist of the month" on Radio Today. Louis has sung light classical pieces at the Palace of the Lost City for guests including Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey as well as the Royal family of Jordan and has also starred as one of the lead vocalists in the hit show “Let there be Rock”.

  Since then Louis has toured and performed throughout Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Finland and the United Kingdom with pop and classical crossover groups in tributes to Il Divo, Take That and Westlife. More recently Louis toured the Netherlands and Belgium with "The British Pop Invasion" and was part of the all star cast in "Nights on Broadway" in Bahrain as one of the lead male vocalists and was also a lead vocalist in the longest running end-of-the-pier variety show in Europe at The Pavilion Theatre in Cromer. Louis has just returned from a 6 month cruise ship contract with SilverSea Cruise Lines on board the Silver Shadow as principal male vocalist and production manager.

  His forte is classical music, however like a true professional Louis is able to go from light classical, to pop classical, to ballads in the blink of an eye. He has the vocal versatility that ranges from classical- pop to rock music.
