About me
After being involved in the radio industry for a number of years, John Duncan’s film and television career started as a mere supporting artist on the set of Stephen Fry’s Kingdom, various commercials and feature film. Whilst on the set of ‘The Duchess’, he secured himself a position of production runner and from that point, decided the industry was for him.He moved to New York City obtaining a position with producer, Terry Leonard and also began working for Rogue Post, a successful post-production facility in the Flatiron district of Manhattan.
Whilst in New York, John had the pleasure of working on multiple commercials for clients such as Sharp and ING Direct, and on feature films Backseat, The Boarding House and Sordid Things. Under Terry Leonard, John learned the process of film making from script to screen and gained experience on set from Key PA to Casting Director to 1st Assistant Director.
Upon returning to the UK, John gained experience in TV documentary for the BBC with Maverick Television before working as Casting Assistant and 2nd Second AD on BBC Film/Talkback Thames feature film ‘Glorious 39’ directed by Stephen Poliakoff.
He then began employment with Bigfoot Entertainment, a Los Angeles based company in the Philippines as Producer at their studio facilities. He has worked on such films as ‘3 Needles’, ‘Curiosity of Chance’, ‘Midnight Movie’, ‘Within’, ‘Shanghai Kiss’ and ‘Irreversi’. He held the position of Marketing & Distribution Manager at Bigfoot Studios, dealing with the marketing and sales of Bigfoot’s catalogue, and as a Producer on a freelance basis.
