About me

A freelance Lighting designer, Re-lighter, AV designer and Technician based in Hull, East Yorkshire.

Head of Production at Silent Uproar.

I have been working in producing houses since 2011 and first started touring in 2013. I have toured shows on a variety of scales nationally and internationally, including my time as the touring technical manager for Northern Broadsides, as re-lighter/LX#1 for Potted Potter across the US & Canada and touring production manager for Silent Uproar's national tours of A Super Happy Story (About Feeling Super Sad).

I have been the head of production at Silent Uproar since 2016 covering their national touring projects as well as smaller scale activity. Throughout the pandemic I have enabled the company to continue to produce work through live streams and closed, covid-safe, rehearsals for future touring work.
Additional skills:
Lighting-

• Experienced at programming ETC Eos family consoles, trained on Avolite Titan series, comfortable programming ETC Congo as well as Strand/Philips Light Pallet.
• Experience rigging, focusing and operating generic and intelligent fixtures.
• Experience drawing and/or interpreting lighting and venue plans.
• Qualified to complete Portable Appliance Tests for electrical safety.
• Experienced at maintaining a variety of generic and intelligent fixtures.
• Experienced re-lighter at a variety of scales.
• Experienced in designing, making and maintaining practicals.
• Experience with portable and/or low voltage lighting setups and wireless control.


Sound-

• Comfortable with both Analogue and Digital mixing desks, PA setup and fault finding.
• Experienced programming Qlab and SCS playback.
• Comfortable with Adobe audition and similar sound editing programmes.


AV-

• Experienced setting up a variety of projection/AV equipment and infrastructure.
• Experienced with interactive AV technologies.
• Experienced at programming Qlab.
• Experienced at programming Isadora, also has own user licence.
• Experienced with Premier Pro, After Effects, Photoshop and Avid.
• Able to operate Catalyst, D3 and Mbox Studio at a basic level.



Management-
• IOSH Managing Safety qualified.
• Experienced at risk assessment and current health and safety practise.
• Experienced at managing budgets, tax, petty cash and PO systems.
• Experienced leading ins/outs including truck loading/unloading.
• Experienced scheduling, running technical rehearsals and prioritising under pressure.
• Trained First Aider (renewed 2021)
• Trained Mental Health First Aider (completed 2021)



Other Skills-
• Experienced with AutoCAD and Vectorworks.
• Trained on Lightwright 5.
• Confident using both counter-weight and hemp fly systems.
