The technical aspects of theatre always held the greatest interest for me and I have pursued that passion throughout my education and career positions. I have continually tried to stretch my capabilities to learn and improve my skills. I am a highly motivated self-starter; an energetic, organized and team oriented person: all very important skills in stage management. I recognize the importance of strong communication within the entertainment environment, and the need to involve the entire team in managing a production.
I have been fortunate to work on board large modern cruise ships over the past four years, so am very familiar with the benefits and challenges of working in a multi-cultural environment. The cruise ship venues also exposed me to the latest in technical theatre equipment. I am very passionate about my work in theatre production and embrace the chance to work with people from around the world. I am also quite excited by the possibility to relocate to new places.
I truly believe that a crucial element of stage management is a thorough understanding of all the technical elements involved. This enables clear and effective communication and smoother technical development of productions. Through my various positions, both on land and at sea, I have developed a strong working knowledge of much of the technology involved in modern theatre productions.
