About me
Andy is a qualified theatre technician and drama teacher with many year’s experience in the theatre industry. His past employment includes technical management, sound and lighting design in both producing and receiving theatre venues. He has extensive knowledge of lighting, sound, set design, costume and stage management. His current role has helped him to develop an understanding and empathy of working with young people and seeing how drama including design and technical theatre can have a positive effect on learning, wellbeing, motivation and confidence. His work includes working with a number of pupils with SpLD for whom drama has been a positive experience and which he has found particularly rewarding. His passion for drama and the Performing Arts is instrumental within his work. Personal qualities include being patient, resilient, adaptable, creative and flexible. He has experience of digital mixing desks, live sound, production LX including using/programming ETC, Zero88 and Strand lighting desks, flying (counterweight and hemp), follow-spotting, Sound No.1 and No.2 and scenic construction.Additional skills:
Teaching all genre and style of drama, techniques and strategies. Directing productions. Teaching design and technical theatre. Lighting, sound and set design.
