About me
I am a costumer and graduate from Nottingham Trent University, with a First class honors degree in Costume Design and Making, I have experience working in wardrobe departments in theatres that have given me an essential knowledge of working in the industry with a familiarity with designing, making, pulling and altering costumes as well as experience in dressing and maintenance of costumes during productions. This has also given me a great deal of experience working long hours with teams of people in small and large groups and keeping calm in fast paced environments. It has also given me a keen eye for problem solving and providing quick solutions needed in stressful situations.Additional skills:
· Familiar with working on industrial sewing machines (4 years) and industrial overlockers (2 year) and using domestic machines (10 years).
· Extensive hand sewing skills.
· Knowledge of pattern cutting, corsetry, tailoring, millinery, distressing, embroidery, puppetry, dyeing and working with a range of fabrics and materials.
· Basics in hair and makeup and wigs.
· Fittings and alterations
· Dressing and costume maintenance including cleaning and repairs.
