I am a Freelance Costume Designer and Wardrobe Supervisor with over 15 years experience in the industry. I am currently Head of Wardrobe and one of the Designers for the highly successful Pop-up Globe in Auckland, New Zealand.
I have 15 years experience in Film, Theatre, Historical Costume and one off creations for clients as is detailed in my C.V.
I have worked for large touring companies and independent productions in many roles, including dressing, standby, maintenance and workroom assistant.
I have been the Head designer in over 70 productions where I have constructed the costumes for most of them / sourced others, and my film credits as head designer have been viewed in New Zealand, France and the UK.
I am passionate about anything that involves, history, fabric, creating and creativity and my love for this has lead me to do a range of jobs within the industry in many areas over the last 15 years.
I have been re-employed many times by different Directors, schools, companies and individuals, and my ability to adapt to different situations and teams has been invaluable.
I love the high demand that researching and working on a project entails, I have impeccable time management and multi-tasking skills which allow me to deliver highly skilled work in a short period of time. I have worked in many environments and focus diligently on a task once it is given to me.
I have a particular love for historical costume, and I have been back and forward between the the UK and New Zealand many times in the last 6 years for research into this. These self-funded research trips have helped me in my costume production by allowing me to learn from history and develop my understanding of historical costume in context.
I work to tight budgets, I have an eye for colour and textures - both on stage and screen, and great experience with creating costumes that fit the given brief in every way.
