About me
I am a graduate from Middlesex University with a BA in Theatre Arts (with a grade of 2:1). This course is one of the few truly practice-based University degrees in the country, which has long held an excellent reputation in the field of technical theatre (my specialism). During my course of study I designed, rigged, focused and plotted the lighting for numerous productions, in a number of different venues. Through my experience at Middlesex, I developed a thorough knowledge of:* How to program and operate the leading manufacturers' lighting consoles (Strand Lighting, Zero88, ETC, & MA Lighting)
* How to repair and maintain generic lighting equipment
* Health and Safety guidelines, relating to, but not limited to, COSHH, PPE, and Ladder Work & Working at Height
* Best Stage Management practice, (being especially familiar with what the role of DSM entails,) using organisation, communication, and administration to optimum effect.
* Relevant software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Publisher,) Vectorworks, MacLux Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Garage Band, Wave Pad, Cubase, and Macromedia Dreamweaver
I also have a more limited acquaintance with, (but working knowledge of:)
* Intelligent lighting equipment including Martin MAC luminaries and colour scrollers
* AV systems
I am an extremely hard working, conscientious, polite and technically astute worker who prides themselves on their exemplary timekeeping and professionalism. I am someone who is comfortable around design and technical tools, as well as being more than competent in numerous computer programs. My experience in playing Rugby Union for my university is a testament to my teamwork abilities as does my paid appointment as student ambassador for Middlesex University.
